Totally understand the joy in driving the z4. Bought mine a month ago for my wife and I to have something we could enjoy together and it has been a blast! My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. We have a 2004 z4 3.0i with the run flat tires. Car drives, to me, like a racing car and can make the shortest or the longer trips a sheer joy! Nothing like putting the top down for an evening stroll through the city. Were getting an alarm installed by BMW this week so that will be our first upgrade on it. Car is alpine white with tan leather interior. I'll post some pics later.

I completely agree. After a hard day at work, nothing feels better than to walk to the parking lot, get into my Z4, put the top down and go beamin' in the Beemer (Bimmer)! I wish you guys many years of very happy motoring. (Please post those pictures - would love to see them!)

2007 Z4Coupe, purchased new, has 19,800 miles. No problems... ever. I drive more often since moving to TX, but much less distance... as you can probably tell.

I guess we are all vane! I do the same in my Z4 and also on my Harley, to see how "cool" I look!

Someday, I will do that and run into a ditch or something. I won't look too cool then!

1998 Z3 74k miles. No repairs - only maintenance.
Changed spark plugs this week - but on 3d set of tires. Used to be the other way around years ago on cars but that's progress ...

My 98 z3 fliped 104,000 this past May.Bought it Feb 09 with 95,000 on it.The last owner did a lot of maintanace on it and the car runs great.Other than looking at getting new tires next spring, not much I can do right now.It needs a paint job ( nicks, scraches and some scrapes ) for being 13 yrs old it still shines up great. My only thought is that when I get ready to get a new paint job for it it looks like the color has been retired, then what??? Just a thought,it will bw a year or so till then, but some input would be helpful.

25K on my 2008 3.0si. I find myself looking for the longest way to go to work in the morning just to get a few more minutes in the Z. On the way home I usually need to blast down the highway and blow all the work stress out, well that's my excuse anyway

Mein Auto: '07 Z4 Coupe
Purchased my '07 3.0si Coupe used with 24k one month ago... Had 25,174 miles when I filled with gas today (yeah, I keep a log of every tank of gas, service, etc... amazing how that helps when you sell the car privately ).

No problems (knock on wood), but I was lucky to buy her one week before the free maintenance ended, so the dealer did a brake flush, oil change, wiper change, and generally went over everything for me on the last day of the warranty (purchased a 2 year extended warranty from the Lexus dealer where I purchased for $1,700- hope to never use it- but helps me sleep better at night).

I don't drive by any mirrors, but I will admit when I park at work I turn around for "one last look" before going into the office! Oh, and she looks just great in the garage beside my "other car" (the old clunker in my sig).

I just purchased my 1998 Z3 about 2 weeks ago and I am loving life. This truly is a great car and I expect my wife and I will enjoy it very much.
I am still getting a lay of the land on the services that have been done and that witch needs to happen, but the car is in real solid condition.
I should also say that I am new to this site and this is my first post, I thank all of you for the education I have received thus far and hope to contribute my thoughts as I go.

The cam sensor at 180,000. A brake pad sensor. Secondary air system air pump and diverter valve, all DIY. That pump which is around $400 new cost me $15 at a pull and pay from a 99 Audi plus a little retrofitting on my part.

And most recently stopped the Tramlining problem by switching from Hankook Ventus to Fuzion ZRi's.

I have only had the car for two years but the previous owner didn't seem to have done anything but drive it back and fourth between Texas and Colorado.

I now runs fine. No CEL's or error lights anymore, uses no oil and just averaged 29.5 mpg on a trip from Colo. to Sante Fe, Taos and back.

I bought my 2004 2.5i from the dealer (who took it as a trade-in from the original owner) in August 2009 with 48k. I am now at 69k and about to put it away for the winter. Most have been highway miles bringing the car home from CO and my 50 mile daily (thankfully reverse) commute.

Previous owner had the brakes replaced and the horn fixed. I've had to fix an oxygen sensor and replace the front control arms. Unfortunately, I got rear ended last month , so it's going in for a new trunk and rear bumper within the next two weeks. I think I'll have them fix the peeling front bumper (bad clearcoat) while it's in there.

Otherwise, it's been a joy to drive...

Here's hoping for many years of fun in my Funmobile!
