Bluetooth Update

I have received feedback from a reliable source in response to my recent post. This is what I was told and it make sense to me. BMW like all manufacturers outsources all electronics. The are dealing with differnent manufacturers whose electronic components must work together for all features to work properly. This includes both hardware and software that is quite complex. They understand the desire to provide Bluetooth like other features in a timely mannner. They want to provide the Bluetooth Technology for the 04 5 and 6 series cars as a retrofit, but it cannot be done because of problems between different component manufacturers. BMW cannot wait to get out of the phone business. BMW NA values its enthusiast, repeat customers and BMW NA has substantial influence over the overall corporation. BMW listens to reasonable feedback, including letters, but cannot comment publicly on all issues for obvious reasons. This includes contractual obligations to its component manufacturers. I appreciate the informed, unofficial feedback that I received. I intend to order 05 545i with Sept 04 production with Bluetooth.
