I haven't placed an order for the X3... yet but it is likely one will fill my garage in the new year.
I've driven the RR Evoque, X3, Q5, XC60, Kia Sportage turbo (don't laugh... it has 135hp/litre and looks ok in my eyes).
Evoque - most attractive out of the bunch, strong turbo 4, choppy ride, small back seat, claustrophobic interior because of the high doors.
X3 - best compromise between handling and comfort, intoxicating driving experience, great visibility, nickel and dime pricing, 8spd auto with sport mode
Q5 - drove like a German Buick, quiet comfortable, 6cyl a little under powered, beautiful interior, exterior a little boring, nice computer interface
XC60 - second to the X3, great performance, very easy car to drive, not as dynamic as the X3, boring interior, small nav screen, great safety features
SX - relative bargain price $20K less than the X3, powerful and willing drive train, electric steering a little light, best warranty, down side? name on the fender
