Angry 2003 Z4 Manual - New Brakes Squeel

I had my Bakes done at a Local BMW Shop (Not a Dealership).
PBR Pads and Brembo Rotors. I had to take it back to the shop once because when your going slow the squeal very loudly. The scuffed the surfaces and the problem went away for 6 Weeks. Sometimes if I wash my car and wheels it goes away a little but comes back. I am about to take it back again.
  • What is the problem?
  • Does this Decrease Brake Performance?
  • Should I ask them use another Brand of Pads or Rotors?

Thx

I hope that is $1300 for all 4 wheels?

My back brakes are going to be due end of the driving season here, plan on putting in Akebono pads and was going to possibly use my indy shop rather than myself...your story isn't encourging me much

Were the pads bedded in correctly? Zeckhausen racing has some great information in the "Technical" section on proper bedding.

I assume the shop used the anti-squeal junk behind the pads when installing them?

Which PBR/Axxis pads?

And as has been asked, did you bed them properly?
