It is possible to flash just the top portion of the turn signals from what I have been told. I have a GT1 I am plugging into tomorrow. I was told when accessing the LCM there is a EURO and US option. The vehicle is obviously defaulted to the US selection now, when selecting the EURO option the tail light is to flash just the yellow portion of the tail light presently in Reffin's 540iT. I am not sure how true any of this may be as I energized and wired my rear fog light circuit through the LCM years ago and have done nothing to change to the EURO setting for the tail lights. When I know for sure either way I will repost. If anyone knows of some good non celis Euro Wagon tail lights with the Yellow Indicators, not clear with Yellow bulbs, shoot me a message. |

Hi,
I will post up some of my pics and background for my car on this thread soon! some of you already know me and the car anyway ![]() When I first got my car, it had orange indicator facelift Hellas for the headlamps and being an 03, Celis orange indicator topped rears. UK tastes are for clears and I couldn't wait to change them! The headlamps were changed first and I put the orange ones up on ebay and they sold within 20 minutes to an enthusiast in New York! I then sorted out a very very good friend in LA with the rear Amber celis to put on his rather famous (in modified circles!) widebody Touring. I've just recently sold another set of Amber rears to another US enthusiast as well! leading from that, I now want the USA way of the rear lights to work!! and you guys want the Euro way for them to work! I'm sure there is a way of getting this achieved without having to resort to programming, but it may well turn out that coding is the only way to do it. 4haulin dogs - I'm sure I can easily get you a set of the 'early' non celis orange top rear touring lenses - whenever those come up on UK ebay, they're cheap as no one really wants them. I don't mind picking a set up and sending across to you, and even to the extent as they'd be so cheap, perhaps have two sets as then you can fiddle around with one for testing etc. Cheers, Dennis! |

Dennis -
If you come across a set of those early Euro Touring tail lights on UK eBay that are nice pick them up. Let me know how to get the money to you and I'll get it taken care of. I greatly appreciate the gesture. Most guys over here driving old cop cars are rednecks in Crown Vic's with pillar mounted spot lights, yours is a diesel Touring. We are so screwed up over here. |

Hi
There's a number of early (non Celis) E39 Touring Amber top rear lenses on ebay right now! One pair (they're listed individually) would come to £28 delivered to me if no one bids. There's a few sets/items at £15, plus £5 delivery, so around £40 for a pair delivered. The last two sets of these lenses I sent across came to around $50-60 USD to send, so perhaps for around $100-150 USD these would be landed at your door. Good thing is they're always listed, due to as mentioned above, no one really wants them, so anytime any of you are ready to want a pair, it'll be relatively easy for me to sort out - so just drop me a PM ! Cheers, Dennis! |

Hi guys! Finally got my Mtech rear bumper painted and installed today. Changes the way the whole rear of the touring looks. This is the next to last piece that I wanted to change. Last item would be the exhaust muffler and tip. What do you guys think? Probably will go with a stainless magnaflow muffler. Not quite sure which tips would look better. Either a 3.5 single stainless or a 5"x3.5" stainless oval?
Dennis, thanks for checking out the tail lights for us. Got a link so I can just see what they look like? Definitely interested as well. Price seems right. Looking to hear from you soon.

It looks good Jay!!!!!!
What wrong with the tip you have on there now??? It looks perfectly subtle to me. Your car is a statement of your personality. Just please don't make it look like some Fast and Furious rice mobile with a big fart pipe. |

How many Tourings were imported to the USA?
Here's my contribution to the BFest Touring thread...Abacus540iT did all the work, though:

Some of you might find this strange but here goes. I have had the Mtech bumper on my 528it now for a month or so and the only thing missing was the dual tip exhaust. The single tip was alright but was off center and looked kind of small in the cutout. What to do? Should I buy or build?
Well, after some imagination and measuring here is what I came up with. ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, after some cutting/drilling/welding these are now dual tips on a stock muffler. I really wanted dual exhaust without the increased sound and drone of aftermarket mufflers. I think it turned out OK, what do you think?

Has anyone ever seen a set of extra rear seats out there for tourings?
(The ones that are backwards facing) I have little mounting pockets in my rear so I'm just kinda curious.. |

My new favourite picture! I'm really liking how this picture turned out, I decided to 'learn' a little more about what my camera is capable of!
![]() Another from further back.. ![]() the540wgn - I don't think BMW ever offered rear facing seats. I think the mounting points you mention, which are on the floor piece in the corners, these are for hooking perhaps the elastic load cover/net to with the hooks it has Cheers, Dennis! |

Hi
Sean 911c - I'm insanely jealous of your Helicam setup !! I'd love to have one but I think I know the equipment you have is that ultra pricey stuff ! I'm going to try and 'slum it' by using $160 beginner friendly remote control helis and attach a small full HD video camera to it !! - You also have an Alpine White E39 Touring, and it's looking ripe for some better looking wheels etc ! BBpilot - this is the 'small' thread at the moment.. you should check out the mammoth E39 touring thread over on bimmerforums.com .... Cheers, Dennis! |
