Cool stuff, I'd like to see a DIY on the duel muffler tips (hint, hint).

You can blame the X5 for that. The X5 completely ate the 5 touring market.

I posted this picture in another thread, but it just captures the touring nicely I think.

Dennis - Thx. The Helicam was the trigger to get the Touring. It fits in the RS4, but it isn't easy. Now the Touring make hauling the Helicam to gigs much easier. Now I just need to style it up some. I'll drop you a picture of my 1/6th scale Eurocopter EC135.

Eric
I never did a DIY while doing mine. Will be able to do one while converting a muffler for a friend of mine that drives a 01' 6cyl touring next week or so. Will let him know to give me some time to take pics and step by step instructions if you are still interested.

Was able to do the left side doors today with illuminated door handles. The 7 series has them, why not us?

What do you think?

I think you have way to much time on your hands!

Seriously, that is a nice added feature! I wouldn't mind adding that to my wagon.

Jayster

Those and pretty much any of the 3 piece Forged made wheels would look absolutely fantastic on our cars! of course, keeping with a nice centre design ! Says series 509 - which brand wheels are they?!

I'm wanting to go this route as well and have a shortlist of a few designs I like!

I'm liking the illuminated door handles mod as well

Cheers, Dennis!

Hi Dennis, Took that picture at the SEMA show this week. That was part of NUTEK's line up of forged wheels. Not badly priced either, depending on finish. BC wheels had a real nice booth as well but prices are 1/3 more than the NUTEK.

Anyone looking for forged wheels should check out Iforged, LUSSO Wheels, BC Wheels.

Quick phone photo of BC Wheels booth at SEMA.

Hi Jayster!

thanks for that update - I unfortunately wasn't able to pop out to SEMA this year which I'm gutted about, however, other aspects are progressing

I'll check out Nutek's range as well - see if a design catches my eye - I've looked at their site before but I'm a little vague right now....

Cheers, Dennis!

Have been doing alot of research on wheels lately and as you can see from previous post, I was really looking for some forged (2 or 3) piece wheels. I really could not find anything below the 3 grand price range. (ouch) A little too deep for my pockets! Came across a whole-seller that offered me a deal on some rims I just could not refuse. Got me a set of 19"x8.5, 19"x9.5 with 245x35x19 and 275x30x19 wheels and tires today. Strange part was the style and design were completely opposit of what I was originally looking for. (impulsive buyer, I guess!) Worst case scenario, I can always resell them if I get bored as the deal was that good!

What do you guys think?

The look is starting to grow on me!

Here's a picture of my Orient Blue 2003 525iT at dusk in the Mojave desert. Bought it in '06 as a CPO with 20k miles, currently 102k miles and just completed a complete cooling system overhaul thanks to the excellent information contained on this board. It's surprising how easy this car is to work on! Also, here's a pic of my somewhat lower tech "touring" from 1957

Jayster - For me, if those wheels had a lip or were the concave style, they'd have been much much better

Thats what I'm thinking too. Still got the radar out looking for what I really want. Just got to find some at a nice price. ($+3K + tires is too deep into the pockets at one time)

LCM Re-Programming

Has anyone out there been able to successfully reprogram the LCM to only use the bottom bulbs on the tail lights for park and stop while the top light for just the signals? Would like to use the euro style tail lights which are clear on top using a chrome bulb (amber) for signals. The standard light set up would look wierd with the clear lenses. Is this even possible? Do have Randomy's programs (INPA/GT1/Progman).
