Well the color is light gray, and has been advertised as a M concept with body mods that contain no bolt on kits. It also has custom 20" wheels which look great in the picture but as was pointed out before not practical for everyday use. Other than that I don't have much info but before traveling 400 miles to look I wanted to have a heads up on anything that is a potential big issue for the 850 that's not common to a 3 or 5 series car that I am more familiar with. Thanks for the help.

Just from the "sound" of it, you might very well be better of saving yourself the time. M-Concept? - I doubt that. There is only one of those, and it is sitting in the BMW building in Munich. Past experince has shown that when you hear of a car that is "rare", "M-Concept", with 20" wheels and a 5,000 watt stereo system, that car has NOT been maintained mechanically. It is a bling-mobile. Do you have the VIN (last seven is sufficient). A large number of 8 series are in the registery and are known to us.
The car sounds like someone wanted to build a "Fast and Furious" car, and with the exception of one or two out there, they all look like crap, and ususally come with a ton of mechanical issues..

I do know the car is claimed to be all original inside having only the cassette player. I will get the VIN and try to get some photos to post. Thanks again and you are probably right the bling is just that, and the rest of the cars falls way short.

The only thing you need to look at is your bank balance. ANY 8-series you buy is going to need parts replaced. If you can't wrench it yourself, be prepared for very high mechanic bills.
I paid $8k for my '97 850Ci; a serious steal, and although I've already done quite a bit of work to her, she still needs more repair/replacements (the little things really add up) to get her where I want her.

They can be great cars, but it depends on how you want to use it. They're great for long highway cruising, not so much for racing light to light.

I have been debating on the body kit, but can seem to make myself pull the trigger on it..

Sorry, I'm not an 8 series owner (yet), but I've always admired them and vow one day to own one. Your car looks great though man, I'm jealous!

Go with a Dinan chip for the engine and tranny. It won't be cheap but you got such a good deal on the car already.

Unless someone pays you to take that DINAN engine chip - it is a waste of time to even install it. I have run ALL possible chips in my V12, and hands down the ONLY one that is worth it AND very noticeable is the WOKKE V2 chip set.
DINAN makes a good transmission chip - but that is about the extent of it.
