CD-Charger installation

Hi there,
first of all sorry for my bad english but I will try to explain myself.

I have a BMW 318d (E46), a 3 Series from Germany. It has a Radio Bussiness with Navigation System (monocrome with arrows and voice, not the 16:9 one). I have a space in the trunk to install a cd-charger, because I have a DVD reader for my Nav.

I want to install the CD-Charger. I bought a second hand original cd-charger for BMW. I had to bought a cable to connect the charger to the head unit in a original BMW parts... but it doesn't work!!! I have changed the cable, but it doesn't work again.
My question is ¿Do I have to connect another cable to the charger? ¿Where is it? It's not in my trunk.
¿Does anyone know a webpage with pics of the installation?

The reason you may have not received a response is because all BMW's in the US come prewired for the CD changer. For us we just need to plug the cable found in the trunk into the changer and we are done.

You said you bought a used BMW brand changer. Do you know when it was made? Any BMW brand CD changer made since 1997 uses I-Bus, BMW's proprietary communication protocol and can be used in any current BMW.

Here is a message that lists 4 different DYI with pictures for an Alpine CD changer. It should give you a basic idea how the install should go.

I remeber that my charger is from 2003. The main cable connects with no problem. I think I need the power cable.

You may be right. I am surprised they did not sell the you the complete harness. Here is a picture of the backside of the BMW changer with 2 cables connected. Note how here in the States it all comes bundled together. Good luck with your install.
