What is the selling price of the car, the mobbed factor, the residual value and the acquisition fee? You cannot judge the lease deal unless you know all of its component parts. Oh and never pay a big drive off. Roll taxes into the lease. Do not pay a cap cost reduction.

i can't seem to find the money factor listed in the lease papers. however, credit score was top tier, and leasing with BMW financial. again 36 month lease.
just wanted a sense of what other people were getting for a similar 528? i thought the deal was a good one, until i started using leasguide.com, which spit out some lower numbers! at least this deal was better than the nationally advertised BMW lease deals (from their website) for the month of december---which i recognize may not be the best? |

Jon,
I'm new to the forum but not new to BMW's. I have few questions. I am coming off a 2007 X5 that had a 106,000 miles on it. I drive like 22,000 miles per year. My X5 was in a bad accident ($15,000 in damages). To mkae a long story shot my insurnce company gave me two options. Option 1 was to have them fix the car. Option 2 was to have them give me the money $15,000 and they also had a salvage company that is going to give me an additoional $12,000 so I will net $26,000 since i have deductible of $1,000. So i decided to take the 26k and now i am without a car. So i am trying to find the perfect balance of comfort, sportiness, luxury, efficiency and i need xdrive because i go to tahoe in the winter and this is my only car I will own. I think the 2012 528xi fits the bill. My question is do you recommend the paddle shifters? My car guy is telling me that it will take a few months for me to get the car if i order it so i willing have to live with out paddle shifters in order to get the car from another location and i should have the car in about 1 week or so if i give him the green light. My main question, is would you recommend leasing the car since i put so many miles on it? My car sales guy is quoting me a payment of $842 per month this inlcudes tax 10,000 mile lease. I am aware of the extra money for the extra miles etc. THis is an 2012 with premium, sports, cold weather, tech package. Also do you like my car choice? |

Given that you drive so much I would suggest just buying the car. You can always trade it in later. Also, you can do without the paddle shifters. I have them on my 535xi and I've maybe used them once or twice. The car is already fun to drive, so I doubt waiting 3 months just for the paddle shifters is worth it. The car sounds well equipped otherwise. If you can do without the v6 engine, then you're good to go!

The only advantage I see for paddle shifters in in mountainous roads to let the engine brake the car speed. In Florida they are pretty much useless with the 8 speed automatic transmission on my 2012 535i

Could someone give me a hand with looking for the package that gives you the instrument cluster from the 7-series?
I noticed that on some of the cars, it is listed as speedometer cluster and the price is included. I forgot to take a picture of the Monroe sticker. It would appear to me that the cluster is not related to either the M-sport package or the Sport package, also it is not only on the 550i. I am referring to the cluster that does not have printed numbers for the speedometer cluster, and instead has the lcd cluster from the 7-series. |
