Z3 Seat cover installation help needed
Greetings.
In the process of installing Iggee seat covers on my Z3 Roadster, and could use some help. I began by removing the four main bolts holding down the seat rails, and am now wondering if this is the way to go. Is there a way to simply remove the seats (cushions only) from the lower carriage that they are bolted into? These are power seats, and after removing the four bottom bolts, I still need to remove the power cord, and figure out a way to separate the seats from the carriage/motor below. As always, thanks in advance for any input. Scotty 2000 Z3 (Topaz) |

no need to remove the se
If you didnt care about reselling it you could just cut leather and the cloth tabs to release the old cover from the frame works, you could likely do that in the car.
otherwise The seat has to come out. The seat upper does not have to come off of the seat. The cover is removable without taking the seat apart at the hinge point. Back cover comes off. The leather cover un clips at bottom it is locked to its self with a 10 inch plastic grip clip. Than you have to remove the 8 or 10 ring clips holding the cloth tabs attaced the inside of the cover to the frame. Grind off assorted steel clips as needed to release the foam cushion to get to the hidden ring clips. Remove old cover. M. |
