2006 330i turbo kit?

I've got a 06 330i w sports package. I was gonna upgrade to 07 335 so I could get the twin turbo but the 330i is solid and requires little maintenance. Should I just get the 335 and hope for the best w fuel pump and recalls or does anyone know if there is a quality turbo kit for the 330i? Or does anyone have suggestion to increase low end torque/horsepower?

Upgrading to a 335i will be cheaper and more reliable overall than an aftermarket turbo kit. There really are no options to make an appreciable difference on a 330 for reasonable money, software, exhaust, intake etc etc, all adds up to many thousands and you will pickup maybe 20 hp which you will barely be able to notice. Turbo or supercharger is what it takes to get a noticeable difference, but reliability will suffer and a well made proven kit is big money.

Just trade it on a 335, fuel pump issue seems to be sorted, is relatively cheap to replace if you are out of the 120k/10yr warranty on it and other than a few turbo wastegate issues and the standard BMW injectors that need replaced here and there like every other BMW model, the cars are mostly pretty solid and very tune-able. In the end it is the best bang for the least money.

As I recall when the E90 was new there was indeed an aftermarket turbo kit in development, although I forget the company. Tuning was a nightmare to say the least with Double VANOS and Valvetronic so it was taking awhile. I'm guessing the project was abandoned after the 335i came out a year later, and yes if power is what you're after you'd be much better off just trading up to a 335i. Despite the fuel pump issues, a factory engineering solution is always going to be much better quality than aftermarket.

There are no known E90 330i turbo kits. There was some talk of supercharger kits but they don't exist except for some custom applications.

The market is too small and the difference in price is too big. Superchargers in E46 330i costs over $5000 and produce about 300hp.
People who want more power will get a 335i.

Your other choice is to get an E46 M3 and then bolt a supercharger to it and you have a lot of fun that is pretty reliable for 335 money!

www.autowerke.com , Software. They have a flash tune that is reported to be very good for more modest boost in engine response and increased HP and torque. $400.

Far be it from me to discourage your appetite for power, and while I do love my car, I'd be stoked to have a 330i. I'm sure I'd be quite content with one. If it works fine, I'd maybe look into suspension upgrades either now or when it gets tired, some top of the line tires, hire a top detailer for some 3 step correction, wheel cleaning and sealing, engine bay, the works. All of that would still be less than a supercharger I suppose. For low end torque, well, how about forgetting about that and trying to keep the revs higher like an M3 driver might?
