Chicago. Hate the place, but it's central. Bimmerfest Midwest.
Look at the over-the-top, high-end, glossy, west coast. Then look at the cool and so-so cool of the east coast. It would really bring everyone together to see the average Bimmer owners of the central US. |

personally I would love Indianapolis!!! But agree some place central (Chicago, St. Louis, Indy, Louisville) would be nice. There are lots of scenic, twisty roads between Indianapolis and Louisville.

I made a cool overlay of the two maps...
One thing to keep in mind when contemplating a location is, where are we likely to have a sizable vendor base, since vendors are crucial to the viability cost-wise. That's why SoCal works so well, its the main hub of the industry.

Kansas! Its flat, no speed bumps
Just kidding. I like the idea of a drive through the mountains, maybe Colorado, but really a fan of the Rosebowl

Jon,
Try Northern Cali. Most of us from this way head down every year anyway. Lots of vendors out here as well.

Any Bimmerfest is best! But also don't forget it was your guy's first ever East event, of course it'll be crazy full. Let's just get to next years already!

Ohio/Indiana would be good. Many potential vendors (TireRack, Zionsville, TCKline etc), relatively low cost accomodations/rental fees and probably insurance. Great driving roads in Ohio, maybe even not too expensive to rent a racetrack....Still close enough to attract east coast enthusiasts while drawing new midwest participants. At least in the Z3 community, some of the most active chapters are in Ohio. We had our ZFest in Cincinnati in 2009 and it was a great time.

I believe the map speaks for itself. Vendors will have to travel to where the drivers and the cars are not visa versa. If the east coast is spending then load the trailer up and head east young man!!!! head east!!!!!

+1 on Atlanta. I'd love to be selfish and say Miami, but that's a long drive. Atlanta is central enough for the SE US.

It appears the East/West segment is covered and the locations of each event make geographic sense. The MD location is central for those traveling from the south as well as those traveling from the north and considering it appears that most are traveling from the northern region taking it any further south would likely be counter productive. A third location, somewhere more central in the US like say Houston would probably make sense since I think it will attract more of those living in the central states, not to mention a segment that would be willing to travel from FL and SoCA.
I would like to see how attendance at each (west/east) compares. |

I would vote up Atlanta...it's about equidistant from NYC and Miami (give or take 150 miles or so).
Another thought would be to have it in Charleston, SC? It's about even with Atlanta in latitude, and if people are going to travel from all around, why not have it at the beach? Very paradisiacal. I also know that the BMW community there is very strong and very large, what with the BMW plant being a stone's throw away. Just an idea. I would love to attend the next one!

I say to come to the Racing Capital of the world. Indianapolis IN. Either the Motor Speedway or IRP. IRP would be great just for the drag strip. So we could put our cars to the test.

Chattanooga, TN.
Chattanooga is 2 hours away from Nashville, Atlanta, Birmingham, and a ski resort town called Gatlinburg, TN. Chattanooga is nestled right in the mountains with rivers and lakes very close by.
