Well those pictures got terribly distorted haha... Bimmerapp upload fail.

They are the wheels I had on at the end of last season, just refinished with polished lips and grey centers.

I'm hoping to get a real photo shoot in soon.

If someone shows up at my door with $10k before I tear it apart in December yes, if not.... I'll just better it again this winter.

Ive decided to throw a toy together using a vert shell we have and lots of spare parts so thatll hold me over on the need for an m3 for awhile.

I've really lacked in updates!!!!

Cliff notes:

-Car now has a 350, finally.

-It is Red....I painted it in a rush in my driveway so it's far from perfect but I was a bit bored with the white.

-Has 17x9 et8 roadstars on it now.

I'll post some pictures momentarily but you can see it live at Bimmerfest East on Saturday!!!

Finished off the American tocuh with a little Dale Earnhardt love....

Sweet. I love the white engine bay. Paint looks good for a rush job!

Occasionally I feel that I owe you guys an update on this car.

As many of you have noticed I've always been a fan of super low, with impractical fitting wheels and tires.

In the following photos the car still follows that style, however in the coming months drastic changes are on their way.

I got a taste of drifting in the car this fall and have fallen in love with the "sport" and the car performs well with it's torquey V8.

December 7-8 you can find me at Summit Point for their season closing 200 Drifters of December event.

The car will look similar but have a much high ride height and the rear wheels will change multiple times throughout the weekend.

If all goes well there the interior comes out, a proper roll cage will be added and wider wheels with flares are planned.

The pretty shaved bay will likely become a dirty mess and the fine line of street legality will be crossed to the point of this car not likely seeing public roads very often.

At any rate, here are a few pictures from recent months.....

Some Fun for the NASCAR fan inside of me;

And where the magic happens:

H2oI (the vw/euro car fest in Ocean City MD) The police were told to stop and ticket any cars that looked "out of the ordinary" for being unsafe to operate and in extreme cases they were impounding them. This was an attempt to create revenue as well as scare people from attending the event in the future. Think cruise week for European cars. Unfortunately for this Police Officer she stopped an educated individual with a valid vehicle inspection license in the state that the car is registered. Confident that any ridiculous fine I was given would be thrown out because an MD police officer cannot ticket an out of state vehicle for a violation and that the car was legal in PA I argued all of her points. She conceded and I left with a written warning.

I see your "'merica" flag is spreading.

Did you ever get the cooling system figured out or is your car destined to be towed around on a trailer for the rest of its life like a prima donna?

What was the warning for? If they can't ticket you because you proved it was legal, how can they warn you?

It's ocean city. They ticket you hoping that you won't take the time to fight it. Most people don't. She got flustered by all of the technical terms I was throwing at her and gave me a warning since I made it clear that she'd see me in court if she wrote any tickets. Normal law doesn't really apply during events like this, it's just a mess.

The warning was for "operating unsafe vehicle on a highway" and "failure to properly restrain driver" although I was clearly wearing my seatbelt. As I said they kind of just do what they want. Most people get scared, I wasn't into it. Expecting to get a stack of tickets regardless I stepped out of character and got a bit mouthy. The whole incident was actually pretty humorous.

Huh? Any state can ticket any out of state vehicle.

Nevertheless, car looks sweet!

I think he meant they can't ticket you for a violation if you are in a car that's registered and licensed in a state where said 'violation' is legal, and you have proof it's legal there.

Simply put you can't expect a pa driver to have a front license plate in Maryland just because Maryland requires them.

State specific laws can't be enforced on an out of state vehicle.

Tail lights, leaking fluids, parts falling off etc. are valid reasons to ticket an out of state vehicle but a car that passes PA inspection but violates a Maryland specific vehicle code shouldn't be ticketed.

It happens but to my knowledge it shouldn't.

Had I been ticketed I surely would've put up a fight. I was going the speed limit with all lights working properly. I was stopped for the sole reason that the car looked "too low"

I'm still not certain why she thought I wasn't wearing a seatbelt. I never drive without it.

glad that you were able to get through to the police on that. unfortunately there are a lot of morons in lowered cars that tend to make it difficult for the rest of the car enthusiest group who actually take the time to *have* something instead of just looking like we do.

oh, and interested in seeing how the flares look on the sedan.

Here's some photo updates;

The car is definitely headed towards being a dedicated drift car.

Winter plans include a cage, e46 arms with modified knuckles, upgraded cooling, and i need to install the Corbeau seats I picked up.

The state inspection expires in June and I doubt I'll bother keeping the car road legal after that.

I enjoy putting the car to use, I've got plenty other others for street driving.

And some current photos before winter teardown;

My friends and I did this with bmw 4.0l V8 in a 94 318i convert. It was a beautiful machine. Unfortunately there was an issue and the car left the road hitting a loaded grain cart taking my two best friends with it. Ill post pics of the build soon. cool build tho.
