Damn. I could never justify paying that much for a nice sound. The sad fact about catbacks is that just can just cut them off, and you'll get the best possible performance.

Yeah, it's a lot of money for sound. And actually, cars often perform better with a full exhaust in place versus nothing at all. Backpressure is key.

Nope, not for the RSC36. They're about $900. Anyway, /threadjack.

It's pretty bad...

I need to pick up some cheapish coilovers....I'm fine with Rokkor, and Raceland as I've driven tens of thousands of miles on them with no problems and this isn't a track car...yet.

While a big single turbo is definitely coming, It might take a bit longer to get accomplished than I'd like.

The suspension/brakes need some upgrading and I think that'll take priority right now. If I can pull some money out of my ass it'll still get boosted before spring, if not I hope it will be by Bimmerfest 12'

What carb are you going to run with a turbo?

There are companies that I can send my carb out to to be rebuilt to work with a turbo setup. I'm going to try to use a few write ups I've found and rebuild a spare as a "blow through" style carb as many people have had success with that.

Essentially a route similar to this is where we will be headed....likely with a single turbo though as it's going to be a struggle to even find room for that:

Many, many changes underway for next year: Shaved and tucked engine bay, interior overhaul, new wheels, suspension etc....



Refinishing these wheels took forever. I'm usually good at getting things done fast but this was a long slow process....Definitely pleased with the final product though.







Relocating fuse box under driver's dash... not a fun process but a worthwhile process!

My e46 m3 was the worst car I've ever owned (and I've had at least 100)

I traded it in on an 06' Nissan Frontier. Great for my family, and it can tow this toy around when I break it!

as for turbos with a carb, meh, not a fan. of course this goes back to the days of the firebird turbo 301...

since you're going all out, wouldn't a tpi setup work out better even without forced induction??

What interior you going with? racing seats I assume?

No racing seats at this point, switching a lot of the tan stuff over to black and replacing broken trim and such.

Were the tan seats in bad shape?
