Post Next Generation BMW M3 (F80) Spotted Testing

BMW M3 F80 Spy Shot

The next generation M3 is out in the wild testing as you would expect at this point. You can pick out that this is the M3 from the wider fenders, bigger air intakes in the front, big brakes for additional stopping power and of course the quad exhaust pipes!

There is still a ton of speculation out there as to what motor this car will get but the latest that we hear still links back to a triple turbo motor featuring one electric and two traditional turbos.

We are also intrigued to see if the rumored 3 series / 4 series split will also affect the M lineup with an M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe. It just seems wrong to think of that to us but it is a changing world for BMW. What do you think of a M3 / M4 split?

Hahaha! I just noticed that. I am sure they just love the spy photographers out taking pictures of them and the cars.

Why would the driver have an attitude? Seriously, you're in a car with swirly crap on it.

Looks a lot like a sedan (with the four doors and all). I thought everybody was saying no sedan this go around in favor of a GT.

Also, why is it called F80? Shouldn't it be F30 M3??

The new M3/M4 will have a separate designation - F80 / F82:

Um, no. Germany, like the rest of continental Europe drives on the same side of the road that we do.
