should I buy an 2007 x5
I have always loved x-5s from a far and I am finally in the position to buy one but I am concerned about the reliability based on reviews on edmunds.com and consumer reports. I found a 2007 x5 4.8 with 38,000 miles for 33950. I love it but it has the technology package and no warranty. I am looking into the extended warranty but it wouldn't be a black warranty. Anyone have any advice. Should I be as worried as I am about the reliability based

Seems like a decent price, perhaps a bit high -- I would be careful of a car without a warranty. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with these and they are not cheap to fix. If you are really serious, then a mechanics (your's) inspection is a absolute, as is the car's repair and maintentance history from the VIN. Good luck!

Do not buy it without a BMW warranty.

The X5 was redesigned for 2007 (called the E70) so it was the first year of production (typically the most problematic). I would avoid them without a BMW warranty. You should assume there will be some very expensive repairs coming in the next few years.

I just got 2007 X5 4.8i and still had 4 more month warranty and 2 year warranty from the dealer ..... I wouldn't buy used car with out any warranty or extend warranty .
My was 26K mile and I paid for $36.5K.
