Brand new 128i hit in the parking lot

I haven't even had my convertible for 2 weeks, and some panicked driver accelerated into the passenger side of it after hitting another car. The impact pushed my car into the truck next to me, and the original car kept going across my bumper. Amazing, huh? Work needs to be done on everything from the passenger side door, down to the rims, back up to the convertible top, around the back, and to the driver door.

The BMW dealership in Pensacola suggest a body shop for me, and luckily the driver at fault has insurance. Any further advice? I know I want to fight for diminished value...

I honestly would not even want the car anymore. It will never be quite like new, there will always be some evidence of the collision plus the damage to the title. Sorry to be a downer here

Did Sandy suggest their body shop. I had a Miata repaired there and was very satisfied with their work. Bummer, but it'll get fixed and hopefully be as good as new.

There shouldn't be any damage to the title provided the car is not totalled, and judging from what the OP stated, it doesn't sound like it would be.

An excellent body shop should make your car look like new again. I am so sorry this had to happen to you.

This is another reason I don't mind leasing.

I had something similar happen to my 128 vert. Life happens and excellent body shops exist out there. Stuff happens (see my x3 transfer case failure post).

I would be pissed too. For some reason new cars attract trouble like that. I went to turn in my E46 Lease a while back and some panels had been repainted due to some scratches and chips. They went around the car with a paint depth sensor and knew exactly what panels had been repainted even though it looked perfect.
