How to remove wax residue from plastic trim?

I am posting this here instead of the X5 forum, as this forum seems much more active, and the issue is generic enough.
I hand-waxed my wife's 2015 X5, not knowing enough to stay away from the long plastic trim pieces that run along the bottom of the car. The plastic trim has kind of a rough surface to it, and when the wax dried and I buffed the car, the wax would not come off these trim pieces and it looks very ugly with the white swirls showing up against the black car.
Upon receiving advice from a friend, I went to Home Depot and purchased some "De-Natured Alcohol". It removed some of the wax residue, but still left a ton. I also tried dipping a scrub-brush in the Alcohol, but that didn't get it off either.
Any ideas on how to get rid of this wax residue?

We have probably all done that once in our lifetime.

This Sonax product should do the trick. The products are from Germany and I've been using their stuff for years to maintain my cars. The alloy wheel cleaner (comparable to P21S)and auto shampoo are amazing as well.
