Cancel/change order question

I ordered 2011 X3 last month because my dealership told me the new 2012 wont get into production until Oct which means I can only get the car in Nov. And I was told I can get the car in 3-4 weeks, however it has been 6 weeks already. The car is in the end of production now and has not yet arrived the dealership. I put $500 deposit for this car. My question is if I can cancel my order and leave the $500 deposit as penalty so I can order 2012 X3 now. Thanks for any comment.

Another question is when I ordered 2011 X3, I was told I had to order BMW Assist w/enhanced Bluetooth & USB in order to connect iphone to idrive, is that true for 2012?

The dealership, by law, is not allowed to take your deposit, it is obligated to return it to you. You might get on their black list, but they HAVE to return your deposit. You can cancel a minute before signing anything. If your CA is a stand up guy, he would have told you that. I asked mine before ordering. With that said, it should not prevent you from going somewhere else and ordering a '12 x3. Just saying! Good luck!

Also if you ordered the exact car you want, there is not much change between 2011 and 2012. 2012 will probably sell at MSRP, I assume you got some discount off 2011.
The car is probably at the dealer by now.

You can connect with a USB cable just fine. I believe bluetooth is required only for voice commands to work as of now. BMW may add more functionality via BT later on.

Note that email and messaging for iPhone is not supported with or without Bluetooth. That functionality only works with blackberry.
