2012 X5 35d

My order for 2012 X5 35d is scheduled for week 40. I think this is the first week of production for the 35d.....received info today, they are waiting for EPA and CARB approval.. I have a gut feeling there are changes to the 2012 X5 35d that require new certification from EPA AND CARB.. Hope it is the 8 speed and increase in MPG...

That would be interesting but it is more likely just a government agency looking to collect more fees $$$$ and justify their existance..

How many times are we going to have to go over this? 8 speed is not coming this generation. it is not certified for the US market and it is not able to be coupled with the US market M57 engine. 8 speed only works on the EU spec N57

I had ordered a 2010...it was placed on the truck at the VPC in Oxnard CA the same day that California ARB signed the Executive Order (EO) approving the X5 diesel. (Approved Oct 20, 2009.)

I believe he build will move forward, but the MFG will hold the cars at their last 'stocking location;' (ie where BMW controls the car) This is the VPC in Oxnard or the VPC in spartanburg, depending on where it is shipping.

Nothing is changing in the powertrain (based on most trustworthy inputs, and not based on 'hope and dreams') so this should be a perfunctory approval.

No diesels in 2012 for BMW, yet...http://arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad/cert.../2012/2012.php
Keep it as simple as possible...but no simpler.
