E39 Buyers Guide (PDF) (download or view)

Here are 2 Buyers Guide articles taken from Bimmer magazine...one is the original E39 Buyers guide that appeared in the 8/2005 issue...and the other is an e39 market update that appeared in the 5/2009 issue.

The files are rather large...so it may take a few seconds to access/download depending on your internet speed. I've posted these PDFs before but for some reason the files get corrupted when downloaded from the server they were uploaded to. We've tried for a while to correct the issue...but it persisted. So now they are on acrobat.com's server and hopefully it will be around for a while.

To those that tried to download these files that are in the FAQ/DIY threads...I apologize for the inconvenience. I highly suggest downloading both or reading through the original PDF first...it contains the most information...the other glosses over the original info and adds a few updates about common maladies/issues plus the prevailing market prices which is now 2 years older.

These are so characteristically useful, that I took the liberty of posting them into the bestlinks just now, after shrinking them down to a smaller size:

Thank QSilver7, not me!

All I did was download them, shrink them, and repost 'em.

He FOUND 'em, & made them available ... which is the hard part!

I'm not sure 'why' you guys use the acrobat.com site (maybe you can edify me?) ... but it's nice to have 'em all together.

I'll see what I can do to help get the information to the users.

The acrobat.com site allows you to take multiple scanned pages of images or documents and turn them into a single organized PDF file. Then you can "publish" them (its what the site calls it when you allow the file to be shared to all) and it gives it a URL address that you can paste into any website or blog. You also get the benefit of not having files hogging space on your hardrive plus easy access to let others access them 24/7.

I remember you mentioning that the PDF was too big...so it makes me wonder if you didn't know that the dark gray slide/scale thingy, that is at the top center of the acrobat PDF, allows you to shrink or enlarge the PDF on the acrobat website. Take a look at the attached image below to see what i mean...it is to the right of the icon/arrows that allow you to flip through the pages. And you can test it out on this link to another e39 PDF that includes e39 models that weren't sold here in the states (its the combination of the 2 PDFs that Edgy posted taken from BMW CAR): BMW E39 Ultimate Buyers Guide

Check out the "slider" (along the top of the PDF) in the attached image below that allows you to shrink or expand the PDF according to the size of your CPU screen...or if you need to enlarge something in the PDF to see it better.

No problem...but the big thanks goes to you for providing the article. It was like we were all sitting in the dark and you brought a light bulb to screw into the lamp...all I did was plug the lamp in.

You're too kind, but thanks. It's that ozibimmer guy who seems to have the huge supply of Euro articles. Oh, just saw the thread: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=566152

More recently, here's a really nice homage to the original 528i from Alex Palevsky in the latest issue of Bimmer magazine. It's included in the negative review of the new F10 528:
