My tip would be to stay within the legal limit. I know a lot of criminal defense attorneys and too dark of a tint is always a reason to get pulled over.

yeah i didn't want to go to dark but would you say the darker would look better with white or just a light tint .

i would get it as dark as legal. and stay with the same percentage all the way around except for maybe the back window and get it darker if you want to help with the heat. as long as its legal its not going to be too dark and should look fine.

thanks man , do you think dark as possible will look good on the white though ? I still want to keep that clean look to it .

i got 15% all around and 50% on whole windshield *save the safety talk been running this for 5 years now on different cars* and you cant see out at night in the country at all (I dont care I stay within city limits) If you want to be able to see perfect I would go with 35% all round still enough to keep the sun out and let cops see in so you dont get pulled over. Also I would not recommend any tint on windshield for what you want

I just got mine done 2 weeks ago on my black on black E60. I went with 35% all around and I am real happy with how it turned out. Good luck.

I went with 50% all around (minus windshield) since I'm in NJ and don't want to attract too much attention. I think for me, anything darker would be a cop magnet. In NJ you cannot have anything on the front sides but the back can be painted black if you want. Go figure.

I have 20 all around but I have a light interior. If you have a dark interior stick to 30-35.

Same all the way around. If anything darker in the back. Ask the Guy what kind of tint he uses. If it is dyed (purple looking when held up to the light) then go somewhere else.

Hey thanks for this thread I just got my e60, white as well with beige interior and been wondering about what percentage since I'm in nyc and cops here are very strict with tint laws.. I do agree with pureimagination on dark vs light interiors.. Idk if 20s might be too dark though

I had the same concerns as I am on Long Island. Was going back and forth between 20% and 35% and ultimately decided on the 35% since I have a dark interior. My tint guy also persuaded me to get the 35% bc he has 20% on his own car and said it was way too dark and couldn't really see at night and his car had become a cop magnet.
