E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Advice on replacing Starter on a 1991 325i

Looking for advice, pointers, tips, pictorials and directions to replacing the starter on a 1991 325i. I've done some surfing giving details from all day to 2 hours to remove and replace. I have also read about nightmares, bad weather conditions and no manuals. I have a manual, the starter, but looking for some wisdom before I begin. The weather is great outside, however I will be doing this in my garage. Thank you in advance for the kind words of encouragement.:

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I too tool an old 10mm open box wrench and bent it 90 degrees at the end by the open box to be able to place it on the bolt behind the flange (totally out-of-sight but could only feel it with one finger). It took another person to tighten the starter motor bolts while I held the smaller 10mm bolts. I was also able to do this without taking the intake manifold off. Thanks to the community of DIY's and the comments which culminated to a sucessful install.
