Water in my door bucket!

Help! I have been noticing on heavy rain showers water ends up in my front passanger side door "bucket" ( where you can put papers or whatever in the door compartment.) What you think is causing this.

1.The drain holes in the bottom of your door are clogged.

2. Someone removed the vapor barrier from inside the door panel and never replaced it properly.

I'm betting on the vapor barrier is compromised.

Water level in door (from clogged drain) would have to be very high before it would reach the door pocket. At that point you'd hear the water sloshng when you shut or opened the door.

If the foam barrier is still in tact, you probably need more of the black tarry stuff that sticks it to the door. It's called ribbon seal and can get from auto parts stores for cheap. Hair dryer to heat it up on the door makes it easier to reseal.

Take the panel off then have someone run a hose on the window while you watch what happens on the inside.
