So, What Did You Do To Your GT This Week?

I bought the Cobra iRadar that works with my iPhone via bluetooth.



Wife had my cordless Escort, and I had to pick up the kiddies from Grandmas. Picked it up from Best Buy for $140 so I was game to see how well it worked.

I'm still playing with it, but used it from Ohio to West Virginia and back and it worked brilliantly. I had to turn it off in Virginia (laws). The coolest thing was being able to look at the map (iPhone) and see where speed traps and red light cameras were and where other users had detected live police locations. When you see trap, you hit a button on iPhone and it let's other users know. It warned me of cops hidden in at least four places where I would have been probably busted. So I'm letting the wife keep the Escort.

Oh, just for the record...the speed limiter that the Dinan upgrade removes? It's REALLY does remove it. Trust me on that one!!

That sounds awesome, does it work for androids? I drove from Philly to Baltimore and back with my brand spanking new gt, I would have loved to have this

So I took the first step to add a bit of edge to my GT and ordered new set of rims and tires. After much internal debate with friends, ended up getting the Foose Legend SS Black wheels and Continental ContiExtreme Contact DWS tires. Cincinnati streets are terrible, so I decided to stay with 20" rims...though I really wanted to go wider (295/25/20) in the back, but decided to stay OEM for now since I'm unsure about fender rub and I have NO intention of rolling the fenders on this car!



Here's what the wheels look like on a Camaro.

Wheels are hot - seriously aggressive but elegant -
(I think you made the right choice to stay with 20" OEM)

Should look especially nice if you have sport package with black trim as your Camaro example.
(Alternatively - if you have chrome trim framing the windows - the chrome accent of the wheels - could play-out nicely.)

PS I am thinking of changing to dark steel grey wheels to give my Sapphire Black GT a more purposeful look - and just for the fun of it!.

My GT has been OVERHAULED!!

Well, not exactly...but I did install the FOOSE Legend Rims! Honestly, they are growing on me. Once I took off the OEM 20's, I appreciated just how nice they were. BMW did good. But with the black rims on...it just gives it a "meaner" look. I got a fair amount of lookers before the black rims...but now, the gawking has increased considerably. My 9 year old daughter keeps asking...Daddy, why do people keep staring at your car?? Of course I tell her she MUST be imagining things...why would they stare? Photos are from iPhone, so not great but good enough...

Nice rims, but to me they look like they belong on a Mustang...as long as you enjoy them..Cheers!!

No buyers remorse from me! Though, I wish I was brazen enough to have gone with 22s. I just drive too aggressively to go with rubber that thin. And now with the Dinan Stage 2 software...no can do 22!! I am starting to like them more and more...as I said, they are growing on me. I didn't want to go too west coast, but I HAD to go with black rims. It's been my core car equity for years.

I just need Dinan to come out with a lowering suspension so I can get rid of about 1" of fender gap. There's a few kits out there, but I'm doing NOTHING to this car that isn't BMW or Dinan approved.

Looks like you have the M-Sport GT....hows the front bumper look in real time?

Well, I wish I already had it...my ED is on Dec 22nd

I recently leased a 2011 535i GT after having driven a 2007 530i Sport Package for the last 4 years. I find the "skinny" steering wheel in the GT very annoying. Has anyone tried a leather cover or anything else to beef up the wheel? Thanks.

I too am a big fan of the standard 20 inch double spokes, but I agree with you - the FOOSE legend rims are transforming - they really impart a much racier meaner look to the GT.
