What this forum has done to me...

Its been a while since i have been lurking on this forum and it has prepared me well for my first BMW....

Before:Never pushed my car (Tiny 4 Banger) beyond 4K RPM
Now: It screams out for help... when i push it to 7K RPM

Before: I was always dis pointed that my steering is very firm.. i wanted it to be light as other lower trims.
Now: I appreciate it how it augments tight corners.

Before: 31 mpg seemed ok.
Now: 25 mpg seems way too much

Before: I wanted the cabin to be silent like lexus.
Now: I push it harder to listen that engine growl ...now lexus seems pointless .

and the rest of the list is censored....

Yup i think i am already......

The dark side of internet enthusiasm:

Before: buy a quality product, are generally delighted (but might have a couple quibbles, or even an occasional problem)
Now: quibbles have bloomed into hideous, inexcusable design and engineering disasters about which are you acutely aware in every detail, poisoning any enjoyment you might have had; you can't help spending your time looking for symptoms of known or new problems; eventually you become bitter, enraged, and myopic

In my experience, this goes for cars, A/V gear, plasma televisions... just about anything. There is always a superior legendary product you could have bought either several years ago or for twice the price of what you paid for the albatross you currently own.

Look at it from the good side:
Its called collective scrutiny...everything will be spotted and highlighted if it doesn't work.
On the other hand when something used to be awesome it now becomes even more awesome.

Here is a further analogy:
This is more like when you dissect a body, and you have been completely unaware about
your internals before; you were so happy...
after the dissection, you can't sleep anymore
did you really need to know? nop.
in the forum everything is shown under the collective intelligence light...
Sometimes we don't need so much light you are correct...people wana be romantic
have dinner, don't look at TJ;s deteriorated button and just take it for a sweet ride

I hear you. Actually coming from a Lexus I was quite surprised at the quietness of F10's cabin. Now I sometimes even turn off the audio just so I could hear and feel the F10's wrath.

Would you mind to share with us you transition experience from lexus to the F10?
How is the F10 different for you? in terms of driving experience ?
How do you see the F10 been different from a lexus say in terms of agility, steering, suspension
isolation, quiteness etc..?

Sure, but in fear of hijacking this thread, I started another with proper introduction of my car:
