Remote trunk lock

SEARCHED BUT DID NOT FIND ANY HELP... MY KEY STOPPED ACTIVATING THE REMOTE ASPECT OF MY TRUNCK LOCK. DOORS ARE STILL ACTIVATED. WHEN I UNLOCK THE TRUNK WITH THE KEY IN THE LOCK I ALSO HAVE LOCK WITH THE KEY IN THE LOCK; IT DOESN'T EVEN LATCH SHUT. ANY HELP /SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED. Just noticed the "caps" and I apologize in advance; I was not yelling but I wasn't paying attention either!
