Look for 7/2012 or later build date - you would get NBT (newer) generation of iDrive

I've driven many of the model you mention thru loaners from my dealership.

Never once did I not enjoy the experience.

Just a little small for my purchasing will, but a damn fine car.

Welcome to the boards.

Understand what CPO is and what maint/warranty you are getting, and what mileage the car has. Insist on seeing the service history of the car and if any repeated issues of note, either look elsewhere (smart) or negotiate a better price (not so smart).

They are asking 29,980. 40,000 miles. Cold weather package. Rear view assist, 8 speed 2 liter 8 speed.

CPO means Certified Pre-Owned, the main benefit is that you are getting additional extended warranty from BMW (not as extensive as new car warranty, but still pretty good).

CPO benefit also includes inspection made by dealership and they were also supposed to replace any worn out parts, however, I would not completely trust that inspection and get a pre-purchase inspection from reputable independent BMW shop.

Advice about getting service records was spot on! Great idea.

Also, if you are financing a CPO car, insist on 0.9% APR - it is promotion by BMW. I had to show them the offer on the web site and only then they have applied it.

andrew, read your post how many months did you get with 0.9
i went from 3.9 to 2.9 and settled at 1.9 for 72
I'm curious on the 0.9 for 72
original poster, my two cents is you negotiate hard for 2013 not a 12 there is about 2400 difference in wholesale value and you can get a 13 coming off leases for 1000-1500 more than a 12,
well worth the extra $$ for resale in couple years if you needed to sell

Good point - 0.9 was for 48 months and you are right 72 probably was at 1.9, but my point was make sure they stick to whatever best BMW offers. The dealer was initially claiming 1.9 was the best available for 48 months (and also they conveniently omitted disclosing available 2 payments credit offer at that time, which I had to remind them too).

Good advice about 2013 too.
