What's beyond 99,999 miles?

Has anyone noticed that the instrument display has only 5 digits for the miles counter? What happens when / IF you hit 100,000 miles? Does it zero out again? Or F10 is not designed to be kept for that long? Just curious if anyone noticed.

When you hit 0001 miles, just run it through a car wash and sell it as new.

To answer your question, it's a black panel display. It can display however many digits it wants.

Thank you. At least one normal person...

The reason I asked, is that currently it displays 09435 miles, and not 9435 miles, nor 009435 miles. You see my point? Thank you.

I would assume that it would need to fit within the physical the size of the "miles" box, but it looks like there is room for both a 100k and a millions digit.

Yep, I've noticed that it has 5 digits as well. Assuming they have it set to add another digit at 100,000 (and I can't imagine they don't) you'd think for aesthetics they'd leave off the leading 0 entirely and just have it read 7195 rather than 07195.

In the picture above, I think the extra digit would appear after the "5" since there doesn't seem to be any room to the left of the "0."

That's what I would expect, as well.

BINGO! You got it. Exactly what I was saying....why only one leading 0 and not 00 or 000. Should have made so digits would come only when they need to.

For people that have over 10,000 miles, what is displayed? Maybe they always wanted to have a leading zero.

Go to the post that asks about color of brakes below. There is an ugly F10 at Vista Ford that shows mileage of over 10,000. There are no leading zeros. Either the counter would start over or the digit will appear to the right. This is kind of interesting... If you go to the thread, click on the link to Vista Ford and you'll see the picture showing the mileage.

I would guess Eternity or a Black Hole, from whence there can be no return...

Nope, it disappears and only shows 5 digits.
