Help with DVD? Please.

So I recently tried to play a DVD on the CD/multimedia function. The previews play and the menu comes up but then.........I can't navigate throughout the menu to get the movie to play. I've gone to additional options to select title/chapter and pushed down on the idrive knob but nothing! It just stays on the main menu screen for the DVD. Please help. Very frustrated.

I too was frustrated by that, but did get it to work. I think I selected the top choice from the DVD iDrive menu from the vertical list of icons on the left. If I recall, it's just labeled "DVD". Some obscure information message is displayed trying to tell you that now the iDrive controller can be used to select the menu items within the DVD movie. I would have thought that turning the iDrive controller would have moved the cursor from PLAY to SELECT SCENE or SETUP etc. While I could not seem to get the cursor to move, I was able to select "PLAY" and the movie started.

I know this isn't the cleanest of answers, but it's only been a few minutes since your posting. If you're still in the car, this is at least a pointer on where to focus. Good luck!

I had this issue too and discovered the system would not play some DVDs but would others. Once I found a movie it would play it worked exactly as described in the manual. Not sure if others experienced this too? Try 3 or 4 different DVDs and see what happens...
