Hottest I have seen is 102F with the IC going...I would even like that a little cooler but that is ok for now.

I believe your IC piping is aluminum? Have you considered going with steel? I was going to go with aluminum originally, but after researching not so sure anymore. Also Dinan pipes are steel.
You have great numbers an it looks like you are stopping before redline! You should be able to go to 6500 I think Dinan increases it to 6800! You would be near 400rwhp!

Yes I have all aluminum IC piping. Thermally the air mass coming through those pipes is so large that when the material heat of the pipes is negligible and really will not play any role heating the incoming air...idling yes but once it flows it only such a small percentage of the air touches the walls for such a short time. Is this your concern for steel vs aluminum? Steel is easier to weld that is a plus!

Also go to a dyno shop that can track your boost levels. You will learn a lot about the health of the system that way. You can see if you have leaks...or slippage. The boost should be a nice straight line. Any hiccups and something is wrong.

Look at the boost line on mine see the waves like around 4.5k...we think that is belt slip.

Sorry didn't answer your question about the blue line...that is naturally aspirated (before headers) dyno run. Headers and cats are why you see the low rpm increases...it really isn't the SC. Not sure why he didn't over lay the header runs..but that is what the blue line is. I think it was peak HP of 270 and torque of 289.

Yeah, I'm just unsure which one will do better knowing how hot it gets under the hood in our cars. Thinking about it, I think, heat wrapped aluminum might be the best, what do you think? Aluminum or steel, I think it will absorb under the hood temps anyway, but having heat wrapped aluminum is probably better because the wrapping will provide insulation and aluminum will cool faster as the charge air starts moving.

Yeah, unfortunately the shop that I go to does not have the means to measure the boost, which is slightly strange considering that they tune turbos and are reputable and popular in my area. The guys are quite knowledgeable too. Last time I asked him to monitor my boost gauge and he said that it shows steady boost growth and seems fine. But yeah, I agree, it's of course not the same as having a machine hooked up to it

That looks more then stock. Did you have your intake/LSD already installed at that point? Can you get/share the run files? Would be interesting to compare against "near stock"

Yeah sorry that blue run had.

M60 intake
Dinan MAF
Dinan TB
Dinan CAI
Dinan stage 5 SW

3.15 LSD as well

I never did a real "stock run" my car came with Dinan tb, and CAI. I added the rest and did that run a few years ago. Obviously a different engine too now. The new engine runs smoother and nicer than the other one ever did.

I had header wrap on my pipe after the IC all the way to the TB.

I took it off as my temps actually seemed higher with it haha although that was before having the additional heat exchanger. I may try again and look for a before and after see what it really does. My gut says there will be nothing noticeable except it will take longer to heat up at slow speeds or idle. Under load there shouldn't be a difference.

I have very thick Fiberglas wrap by the way. I think some of the photos on here you can see it.

Yeah here is a phot Chris took with the wrap. I was thinking along the same lines as you and now I am skeptical it does anything but will do the science and try again.

Car will be in the shop next week to fix this MAF issue. We are eliminating the T9...so mine will be for sale if anyone wants it. We will be replacing with a "clamp". I don't know exactly what it is but it sounds very awesome haha. Did some more runs the other day but didn't save data... Got it a little better a little over 400rwhp but the MAF situation is fighting back. Should have updates next week with the numbers!!

Was running amazing... Got it on the dyno and the fuel pump started to give out we think and the AFR were going lean! Didn't take her all the way up. Have the new walbro 400lph coming in to replace this 255lph. Should do the trick! Murphy's law much?
