Just curious... Did you ever consider installing water/meth injection? I have two friends running it with twin turbo 300zx's with amazing results. Also, my brother runs it in his 400 hp supercharged grand prix gtp, and I had it in my biturbo S4. Great way to lower temps and boost octane (allowing more aggressive timing).

It is definitely on the list of things to do. It is in no way a substitute for intercooling though. Once I get her running well I may add water injection. Water to air should do a great job though with icebox to bring intake temps below ambient. Next step is injection. I have the m60 intake manifold and there is a metal plug that screws into where the IAT sensor was for e34. I have been thinking of setting this up as injection as it would spray all cylinders equal. There is no end once you start!!!!

Update...

Installed my AEM UEGO AFR module and sensor over weekend. When I had exhaust done I had them put a bung and plug so it was ready. I put it where the fog light switch was. I never use the fog light switch and just leave them on anyways. It looks great and works great!

I have been having issues with the belt tensioner. Everytime I start it launches off I have been playing with the adjustment to no avail. I think I need a wider idler pulley. I will investigate this as I need to sort it soon.

Also finish my endplate which has 2 1/4" barb connects for the fpr and for the bov. There is a larger 5/8" for the break booster.

Maybe you are not using the correct belt type, lenght or width. Or maybe you pullys are not staright in inline of one of the not perpidicular to the plane of the belt.

Lines up fine now. I had to make my own shaft to pull the idler out as well as play with the bar Dinan gives that goes to back the adjust tilt. All is good now she runs great. Now for the injectors, endplate and the tune.

Today's accomplishments:

Injectors installed

Endplate finished and installed.

Brake booster cap broke off so I am gluing it back on (In photo!) just a check valve at this point. Since it will not have both inlets one is capped per Dinan spec.

CCV deleted. Ran a hose from oil separator to supercharger inlet.

Ran car to check injectors work. They do car runs SUPER rich AFR read 10.0!!

Leak tested. No leaks could hold pressure very very well. Up to 10psi and would slowly release due to open valves and what not. Think I will not have issue with pressure! Haha

Wondering where you disappeared to. Picked a great time of year to play with a blown 4.4 but hey, it's New England.

Same here, was wondering what happened to you and the project.
That location you were talking about for plumbing in the water/meth is where I have mine mounted. Much easier to do it when the manifold is off the engine.
As an alternative you could mount the nozzle higher up on the front of the manifold (3rd pic), that where I use to have it before I went wild with all of the port injection nozzles.

I have a 5 gal can of M1 so when you are ready you can have some of mine. You mix it 50/50 with distilled water. I don't think I'll ever go thru 10 gallons.

Question, how did you acquire those blue Dinan engine "covers"?

I powder coated them blue and Steve Dinan gave me the stickers.
I had a few of them, one for my valve cover and the others went on my tool box and a few other friends cars.

I guess I'll powdercoat mine silver. I'd imagine those stickers are hard to come by.

I see you in Sac, and a lot closer the the Dinan office than I.
You should give then a call or swing by (you won't regret it) and see if they can spare a few.

I will, just left for college though and had to cover my 540 over the semester. I'll give the Dinan headquarters a visit this summer for sure. My uncle actually knows a guy who powdercoats and could probably do my covers for cheap. Thanks for all the helpful responses and sorry bricas for goin off on a tangent.

haha no worries! this is a "just for fun" thread anyways!

see the red circle on the photo. on my intake manifold there is metal bolt there. This is where the IAT was for the M60 motor. My M62tu looks like yours just a circle in the manifold. I would like to see if I could use this for the meth injection one day. Car has a while to go before this though. That would be great if you have a can would really appreciate the help. Maybe a few month before I go that route.

everything is installed and running right fantastic now. The water/air system flows very nice and I am running 50/50 coolant and water. There is next to no pressure leaks in the intake. I can pressurize system from air filter/MAF up to 10psi with a slow release. BOV is tuned for a pretty fast release and has no leak at all. MAF pre-scaler is installed and ready to go. SAP is completely removed.

I had the car towed last night, and left the front bumper off as guy didn't have boards and it would have dragged...also was too lazy to put it on.

Shop was giving the car a mechanical once over today and were supposed to be working on the baseline tune to start the car as it doesn't run with the 42lb injectors at the moment untuned. there was a minor issue with the tensioner (again) but shop was going to be taking care of that today. Tomorrow I should be going to shop for the tune unless something come up.

haven't been able to clean car in a long time it is dirtiest it has been in years. haha

there was an issue with the belt alignment. Having a custom idler puller made and should be done today. The shop got everything plum and true and will install aditional pulley today. Tune will start shortly after!

Ehhhh it is frustrating to report but there has been little progress. The shop owner has been very sick. I think Nick, the tuner, is going to be going with an Alpha-N tune and removing MAF. There have been issues with this. Anyways I am not leaving you all hanging as there hasn't been much lately. Will report when more occurs!
