NAVIGATION Perspective View

I have recently attempted to switch the navigation in my 2007 X3 and after going into the hidden menue I activated the perspective view however there was no change. I recently had some warranty work done and asked if they might look into what was up. When I picked up the vehicle they said it was working fine. I checked and sure enough it was in perspective view, however, the range adjustment was changed from feet to yards and none of the streets were labeled, only major hwys.

Any ideas?

That's what mine has always done. If you think about it, the perspective view compresses the scale so that those things which are near you are expanded and those things that are far away are diminished. Text for street names and local roads would be constantly refreshing. I'm not sure, but I seem to remember the original perspective view was more of a hack that someone added via software and became popular enough to be added by BMW. Of course, that may have come to me in a dream.

My '08 X3 GPS is quite crude by today's standards, but it never ceases to amaze me how often it beats my Magellan and my iPhone for things like navigating around things like corporate complexes and mall parking lots.
