Star Spoke 128s

Anybody know the widest you can go on the rear tires for star spoke 128s? And for anybody that owns a set, do you actually take them off in the Winter? I leave in virginia beach, we dont really have harsh winters but I dont want to buy the tires just yet if the cold weather will actually affect the summer tires.

with the 128's you should be able to go with a 295 or 305 tire in the rear without an issue. The biggest issue is finding a tire that is a close enough size to the factory tire; the rear is a 285/30/21 and you can go to 295/30/21 without an issue. 305/30/21 is pushing it and then to go back to the proper ratio you would need a 335/25/21 if I remember correctly.

Finding any of those tires besides the 285/295 is a challenge, esp since we need a XL load rating tire and most are LL (light load).

As far as tires, Tirerack.com is having a closeout on the Continental DW Tires for the 128's, its about 1100 shipped to your door vs. the normal 1300-1400 dollars. Most people take off their 128's and put on smaller wheels with snow tires so they can use their car in the winter. A summer tire will not grip well at all when it's cold outside; and as well they will be fairly useless in snow.

If you want a great all season tire, the Continental DWS is the way to go. Great driving dynamics in dry and wet conditions and it'll plow through snow without an issue!

Cool Cool, i have the standard 18s with the bridgestone turanza EL42 winter tires. It dosnt really get cold here till about Jan. so ill put them back on around that time. As far as the rear I was planing gonna try to go 295 at the most. If i recall i think the front is 245/35/21 right?
