What would you do??

Need some advice with a dealership.
The other day my wife n i traded her 2010 jetta in for a 2010 ford expedition. Well the dealer claimed that the truck had 54000 miles on it. When we got home we started changing settings amd we noticed the computer was in kilometers. So we changed it over n found out the truck really only had 33000 miles on it. With finding that out. My wife n i are wondering if that has the chance of voiding the contract.

I understand that this is not a bmw question. But my fellow fest members have not strayed me in the wrong direction.

Did the California state odometer statement have an incorrect mileage?

I seem to recall that many dealers make you sign something that allows them to correct 'clerical errors', so they may not need your cooperation to correct this error.

So the vehicle had less miles than you thought? Why not be happy that you bought a vehicle that is better than it first appeared?

You will want to get that corrected ASAP. That car will be reported as sold with 54k and now you only have 32k. That is ripe for odometer rollback and can cause problems from emissions to insurance.

Ard. Im not having buyr remorese. I was just wondering if that would actually void my contract. I know its not my mistake but i dnt want to hear some crap about them tryin to redo another contract and tryin to get more money out of it.

You definitely need to get the paperwork corrected...but you already know that. If you want to keep the vehicle, it seems like a pretty straightforward request to correct the paperwork through the dealer's business office rather than via the sales person. They can't extract more cash from you unless you're willing to give it to them.

Yes, through the dealer's business office! The salesperson has nothing to do with this, strictly a clerical process. Get it changed right away however. Enjoy the truck they are great vehicles and you will be amazed at how much "stuff" you can haul. That disappearing third row is actually usable for adults too (unlike the BMW's).

Oh the wife loves it. We got one hell of a deal. Its 4x4 n everything. I just wanted to see what yall thought of the situation before i went further.

Just have them correct the paperwork. Tell em to get lost if they gripe about the deal... They are the experts and have the obligation to know the mileage- YOU didn't do anything to mislead THEM.

Good news it that it still has a Furd warranty... and you can get an extended warranty from them too. Did two AC systems and a transmission on a Ford Aerostar under an extended warranty, years ago.....

Well the dealership manager fliped out at the sales rep lol. I will be goin bk next week to get everything fixed. Cause they even bought from the origional owner with the kilometers. They dnt have a clue lol

After reading this thread, I just tried switching my car from km to miles... no luck my car was already in miles.
