In non cornering mode the ARS system goes to a lower hydraulic pressure.. it does not "disengage". You are thinking of ZF's AOS system (adaptive offroad stabilizer). ARS with no power can not be compared in the slightest to a normal stabilizer bar. Cool test but doesn't tell us much of anything.
