Lower timing cover

Hey guys I'm in the process of changing alternator and when I got that far noticed a lot of oil leaks and I am trying to tackle what I can now that I have it taking apart going to do alternator oring and lower timing covers do you know if you can take of lower timing cover without taking apart upper timing and valve cover

You should post this question in the reglular 6 series forum, this DIY subsection does not get much traffic.

I believe the lower timing is rarely done, I have been told the engine has to be out for that one. But you will get really good input on the main board.
