Bluetooth issue on F10 - 535
I have a 2011 535i and my bluetooth connection is annoying.
In my other cars, if I am on the phone before I start driving, the car's bluetooth system is activated automatically when I turn on the ignition and when I switch the car off, the bluetooth connection to the car is terminated and the conversation continues on the phone. In the 535, however, when I switch the engine off, the bluetooth connection to the car remains even after I get out and lock the car. This forces me to remain in the car till the conversation is over. Does anyone have this problem? Did you figure out a solution? |

If i am not wrong this is a standard operation. It stays connected as long as you are with in the bluetooth range unless you terminate the bluetooth connection and swith to phone. In my current car (Honda) it operates in the same way, so when i am leaving the car i swicth the Audio source from Bluetooth to phone (Iphone) Last edited by DreamCar; 10-04-2011 at 12:06 PM. |

On my iPhone, it works as you expected. If I am playing any audio on the phone, it starts playing as soon ad it connects to BT in the car. Same thing when I am talking. It Also disconnects and transfers the source to the phone, once BT in the car is disconnected. No manual intervention.

And also i dont know if it will be the case with BMW but if you continue the call in the car after switching off the ignition, like 30 minutes or so, you will hear a verbal warning from the speakers saying it will drain the battery

This seems to be the design.
So you're on the phone, (or listening to the radio). Stop the Engine. Accessory power is still on. So BT is on, or Radio stays on. I hit the Key Lock (middle round logo on the keyring), typically after i step out of the car, and BT shuts down, or the Radio goes off. Also, if you don't hit the button, there is a timer which cuts power after a certain amount of time. Haven't timed it yet, but i believe it's 1 - 2 minutes. Hope it helps. |
