Sooner. What possible reason exists for holding the cars? EPA on Sept 9 (reportedly), CARB today.

Just venting here - my 35d went into production on October 7th at about 12:00 PM and for the past 2 days it has been in the Paint Shop. Must be getting a few extra coats!

I hope that you are right but so far I didn't receive any indication that it is going to be earlier than 21st. Let us know if anybody got better info.

My CA just called me and told me the cars are set to be released on the 21st. So perhaps the vehicles are being moved to the west coast staging area to make sure that no one on the east coast gets their car before anyone on the left coast.

Samething from my CA, he said: "they were holding the vehicle for the EPA. We expect the release to be before or around the 21st".

My car was released to 3rd party truck in 10/15.
Due at dealer 10/17 (Monday, tomorrow). I'm planning on picking it on Monday afternoon or Tuesday AM.  A PS Cars were all on CARB hold, this was released on Friday PM.

As of this AM I have a 100% confirmation from a factory rep at the plant that the diesels ate officially released

As of now My car is still in South Carolina. Being released to a carrier today. Regardless of how much or how little I will like this car I dont see myself repeating this experience... at least not on this end of the model year.

I got it before the CARB posted.... in Oct 2009. (But after the date on the signed EO. Car shipped the same day the EO signed, I had it two days later.) Also, it is easy to think this little forum is 100% of the X5s in the US, but I expect someone else was (and will be) first.
Picture? I actually don't care. It's kind of cool, I guess. But look what it got me with my 2010! A

Two other peolpe waiting at the same dealership as me for a 2012... including an employee. NO ONE has their's loaded for sure on a truck yet...nevermind at the dealer
