528i
Love the 528. I also have a 99 e39 528(5 speed) that i've owned for 12 years with 337k miles on the odometer. Night and day differnce between the two iterations. The F10 is so much smoother and powerful than the E39.

I agree, comparing to my 12-yr old E46 (I now can't understand how on earth I could have enjoyed it so much for so many years LOL). I also believe that the extreme smoothness is what contributes to this car being often called "boring". As much as I don't belong to the complainers group - I do agree that it's so soft and smooth even at 150kmh (93mph) it could actually be called boring. Literally nothing happens even at such high speeds (I have a feeling that's also true at 200-220kmh, can anyone verify?). The acceleration is so seamless and effective, yet hardly rough and audible (just drove an '11 TL 3.5 V6 boy was that thing loud, rough and wicked in comparison). So there you have it. All probably well intended by BMW and so be it... "Refinement" is probably the word. I enjoy mine as well. Just wish I could push it a LOT harder a LOT more often. Not gonna happen though where I live... Other than the track day once or twice a year.

You hit the nail on the head. My E39 was lowered with H&R sports springs and M5 sway bar. Cornering is incredible with the E39. The F10 handles the curves with aplomb.
