Earl change

Just did an oil change...Mobil1 0w40. Engine sounds like night and day.

I didn't soak the filter before filling...is that an issue? Also, I only put in 6 qts and it's saying its full. Is that normal? I thought these things took 6.5qts?

Every oil change I have done (including yesterday - 60 degrees in New England in January!) has shown full with only 6 quarts, and then drops 1/2 quart in the first 100 miles or so of driving. Measuring the amount of oil removed from the engine typically shows 6.5 quarts comes out, so I'm assuming there's 1/2 quart holdup from my car being angled on the ramps.

Sounds good...I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens.

Yep...dropped after a few days. Added a 1/2 quart and the gauge now says about 3/4 to the top line.
