Mein Auto: 1994 740i
Satisfied w/ my 740i

1994 740i owner for ten years now.
240K and still runiing smooth.
Current repairs needed are replacing the front bushings, possible re-alignment.
recent problem is that the de-fogger for rear window stopped working.
Driver side upper door hinge is mal functioning creating a noise and as if an inside brace has broken.
Replaced the hood support shocks, was a piece of cake.
Need to replace trunk support shocks, haven't made the time.
Tho engine is running good, feel the hesitation and is possible minor oil leak on gasket, again have not made the time.
Happy with the vehicle and plan to keep it for a long time.

Mein Auto: 87 325es, 93 740i
92 740i. I'm the second owner and purchased it in 2002 for about $15k with only 32k on it. It has been one of the more reliable cars I have owned. Maybe I'm just lucky, but it is not due to me babying the car.
Things I've had to fix so far:
fan clutch (made my own tool for that one - it was kind of fun)
brakes (a few times)
catalytics (to pass smog)
02 sensor
Current issues:
rear defroster and horn don't work (after the front windshield was changed. hmm.)
rough idle in the mornings (I need to go through the vacuum system, just hasn't been a priority yet.)
Heater fan making a noise and medium speed

I still love this car and enjoy driving it whenever I get the chance.

I have the exact twin to your 94 740i. I have had it for 14 yrs and it only has 108k miles. My 16 yr old daughter drives it, and my 19 yr old son drove it for the prior three yrs. it still runs well but is a money pit.
