Iphone Integration
hey all,
I have a head unit radio with CD/ SCAN button only. I was wondering is there a way to integrate my iphone to listen to music with. I have seen some threads about plugging in a cable in the back of the unit and routing it where the ashtray is. Also my car is pre wired for a phone, would i be able to utilize it? If not on both questions, what should I do? any advice would be awesome. I have read a lot of other threads but can not seem to find the answers i need for clarification. I have a 2001 325i not sure what kind of radio it is.. Single cd slot. |

using the aux on the 325
I had the dealer install a AUX cable (looks like the plug for your headphones) you need to buy a male to male but I set up a playlist on the phone and it works great. also the bluetooth stops the music when the phone rings, NO HANDS

Unfortunately your radio must be made after 09/03 (if i recall) in order to utilize the cable from the back of the unit. Your car is prewired for BMW bluetooth, but you would need the latest bluetooth module in order to gain connectivity. Latest BMW Bluetooth Module = $$$$$$$. Even if you went that route, it's highly unlikely that the module you buy will work with future phones.
I use a USA-Spec PA12 for iPhone music integration. Charges my iPhone 4, can use the next and previous buttons on the steering wheel to control. I use a Parrot CK3000 + Connects2 harness for iPhone bluetooth integration. Automatically pairs to my iPhone when the car is started. I can press the bluetooth button on the steering wheel to initiate Apple's Voice Control, where I simply say "Call John Smith," and it starts ringing. When calls come through, the phone rings over the speakers. I can press buttons on the steering wheel to either answer or deny the call.
