Stuck in Hamburg. Help!

The drop off location here in Hamburg might as well be on the moon. After 2 hours in traffic we finally found the place and it was too late. Another hour+ back to downtown; sitting in a new hotel room wondering how much a taxi to the train station will be once I go through this all over again. Even thought of driving to Bremerhaven. We are flying home from Berlin and need to take the train there.

If anyone has any idea ho much a taxi will cost me, please let me know so I can bite my hand and draw out enough money to pay the fare. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Ed

Bummer! Ask the concierge at your hotel about taxi far, he/she will probably know or find out.

All of the following is based on web searches, NOT personal experience (although I have been to Hamburg and did take the train back to Berlin)...

Drop-off location to Hbf by road: 15-17 km; 25-27 min. Googlemaps lists three routes, the fastest of which is via B4 & B75.

Taxi fare seems to be about 1.4 EUR per km using a small company that lets you book in advance:
Oliver Fuchs Tel.: 0163 81 93 645
http://www.rotcabchen.de/taxi-ff/

Hope this helps!

(Which hotel are you at? I know the concierge staff at the Fairmont and the Atlantic.)

Smile Scream 5: Hamburg Drop Off

Made it. Thanks to all. No doubt it was all me and the wife; 7 hours of driving around Hamburg, over 2 days. Locked out of the apt in Berlin, I am now waiting for a locksmith. Go Brewers.

If anyone needs some advice or info on getting to the Hamburg dropoff, let me know. I have video detailing how to find the place, etc. It is definitely difficult to find but GPS was able to get find it for me.

Sorry that the video isn't the best. I had to drive with one hand and record with the other so it was kind of hard sometimes. To add to the problem, there was a cop that came up behind me while I was recording so I had to hide and shut off the camera here and there. Either way, I hope it helps.

Thanks for the video. I'm going to try the dropoff there soon using google maps. Any special tips or signs to look for (or anything about the 'gate' mentioned at the end of the video)?
