Engine Sump/Oil Pan Leak Q!
Bimmer Fan's, it comes to a day when your baby is leaking from the worst leak of engine and that is the sump/oil pan leak. Is this DIY'able without having to lift the engine? In order words, can the sump/oil pan gasket can be changed/replaced without having to lift ore remove the engine?

This would be a difficult task to do without lifting the engine. You will be able to remove all the bolts for the the pan removal, but you will not be able to get the oil pickup to clear the section of oil pan to remove. Im sure someone on this forum will say its possible. It is, but you will do more damage than repair.

Check my youtube channel for videos of the front subframe removal. It is actually quite easy and if you buy the tool ($80 from harbor freight) in my video you don't have to "lift" anything. Once the subframe is out, the pan drops right down and is an easy removal.
