Ah. Well, you can take it to a place that rebuilds alternators and have em bench test it for you, which IMO is a waste of money (because all they look at it voltage output and amp output), or you could pop it on your car and see if its charging 14v. Throwing an alternator on an E36 is easy pie, so thats what I would do. Thats just me though...

Thanks Karl! If they made style 30s in a 17 or even an 18 I'd get a set and finish the same as my 16s are now, but I think 16 is the largest......

Some style 102s or 108s in the right size could sway me away from the 30s.....

Yessir, but I want to get everything reinforced first, I don't need my subframe tearing out on me. Doing front and rear end overhauls with all new bushings, ball joints, hubs, bearings, and reinforcements. Going to get camber arms for the rear as well. Then I'll either track it in spring with the springs and struts I have now, or I'll get my TRM coilovers before that. Depends on cash flow.

Hopefully 3 weeks from now I'll have it all torn apart for welding, but we'll see.

I'm also going to do a good bit of drag racing (for fun) as well. Not going to get competitive with it though.

Just bought supplies to turn one of my shed into a paint booth.

Gonna paint the e36 sedan i'm picking up next week. (gotta buy all my reinforcement goodies and weld them in first though.

Going to rip out most of the interior,engine and front and rear subframes and paint it over and under. Suckers gonna look brand new when i'm done

I bought $40.01 worth of gas.

And it didn't fill the tank

And I got 20 mpg again

ive been getting 24-25mpgs per tank mixed driving.

Not very aggressively... 75% town and 25% highway. But with a 3.45 diff and an intermittent CEL.

i has o2 sensor CEL.

Whenever I do the pedal trick, I get the ICV one, but I think it's different, because it occurs at odd times, like hard acceleration. And the idle has been much better (except a little high). I've tried to get another code, but I keep getting that same one.

Do you press 5 mire times for the next codes?

I get on the highway and i put the cruise on at 61mph. not really caring how fast everyone else is going...

and i accelerate very slowly in and around town. i haven thad my car up past 4k in probably a month or two.

Yeah, I don't quite drive like that.

After fixing my hesitation issues i usually drive around town shifting around 2500rpms (at least i think) but saturday i had some spirited driving sessions on the highway (first time out there since the knock sensors were changed)

but my obc says 16mpg and goes up and down randomly

My OBC says I average around 24ish. Few things I've noticed is you can squeeze another 25 miles out of a tank by shifting at or below 2500rpms, and that the throttle gets soft if you drive conservatively too long (thanks to throttle adaptation). So to keep the throttle peppy, you gotta drive it at WOT every once in awhile

26.1 on the OBC on my m3. The last tank I hand calculated was 27.2 mpg
