Sirius Question For E39/E53 (X5)
Hello Everyone.
I have been searching the Audio Archives for about 1 week and just finished hooking up the BMW OEM Sirius Reciever, Ant, and a NEW HU (Cuz I knew the old HU will NOT work) for my 2002 X5. So here is my Problem/Question. When I press the "m" button on my NEW HU (which I had ordered from Crevier BMW last week and they said it just came in as a new part at the end of March, so I know it is a new prodution date HU) it reads SV 27-01 40 which is the SAME readout from my old HU. So this leads me to believe that it is BOTH the Business CD player AND the HU that needs to be replaced on the E39/E53 (MY 2002) for Sirius to work?? Any thoughts. Cuz that SV 27-01 40 is excatly what is on the Alpine Sticker on the bottom of my Business CD player, so even with the NEW HU it is still seeing the OLD SW numbers from the business CD player. Does that make sense??? I have found a new CD player that has a 09-04 40 Do you think this will work and thus have Sirius working properly on my 2002 X5 or is there a DIFFERENCE in the wiring in the 2002 X5 eventhough I have both the 3 and 6 pin wires from the CD Changer???? Kind of stumped... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks --Nathan |
