Used Engine

I'm still searching for a used engine. Only problem is hardly any of the places do compression tests.

So would it not be wise to get an engine without knowing the comp numbers?

I called one place and they said the engine ran very well so they didn't bother testing it.

1995 525iT. 178k miles. Magnaflow exhaust. SOLD
1991 535i/5. 154k miles. |DT Performance Catback|CAI|Miller MAF/WAR Chip|NEX coilovers|Beyern Rapp Staggered wheels| SOLD

Only if they give you a substantial guarantee ... IMHO

Most problems are usually something simple !

Have you tried I bought an engine from them once and it ran very well, low miles however it was for a chevy. My experience with them in terms if customer service was great. I believe they are located in Fla.

Gravik- I suggest you find an engine with good compression and dive in! You are tip-toeing around the edges, proceeding with caution (which is understandable), however once you find a suitable engine, jump on it. Yes, problems will arise, as will be the case with ANY engine you put in your car. You are wise to ask questions prior to purchasing, but you will make the final call. If it feels right, do it! Don't wait for us b-fest trollz to give you advice on an engine of which you only have compression numbers. Inspect the engine, note how many miles, and if the seller is reputable, buy the engine! Go forth, young Gravik, and buy an engine.

BTW- comp. tests are fairly simple. Buy a pressure tester for ~$40 and ask the seller if you can perform the test if they don't have compression test results.
