Successfully coded my E70

If anyone does coding near MD, I'd love to hear from you!!

I can enter the coding sequence after typing “repxet” I can see the modules, when I select “car-keymemory” and check the boxes, I get the “konsistence check ok” message and after selecting “FSW/PSW” and checking the boxes again I get the “konsistence check ok” message. I set the profile name to “FSW PSW MAN” and all is ok; however, after I select F1 > then F3 and choose chassis e70, I get the following error message “VIN is faulty COAPI-2000 EDIABAS or SFBD Error. IFH-0018 Initializing failure of the Interface Handler.” If I input the VIN manually, I get a “VIN faulty” message.

Anyone else experience this? Any thoughts?

What version of ediabas are you using? Sounds like you have a mismatch between the daten versions and the ediabas version.

Looks like Ediabas is Ver. 7.2.0. The daten files came from the "E70.rar" file that everyone claims to be V45; however, I'm not positive.

I just coded a 2010 X5 M series with VIM and its pretty simple but needs an extra step besides the normal NCSexper coding...You need to edit CIC file within NCSexpert daten folder of the E70.

I just want to confirm, I saw an ebay seller selling the cable, he said it works on E70 up to 2010. Will it work with my 2012? Thanks.

You will need to modify your FA (Vehicle order). You need to add +MUEH to the FA in CAS and FRM. You can follow the instructions here

Once you have done that, you need to code your FRM using the Expert Profile in NCS Expert (which doesn't allow .man manipulation files). This step codes the module so that it knows you are running the LCI tail lights and it disables the brake light out warning. This will reset your FRM and any coding which you previously had in that module, you will need to redo.

Just joined this forum. And it's surprised to see that you had replaced your tail light of 2009 x5. I have same idea of changing it, but i am not sure if it looks nice in 2009 x5. Could you plz send me some photos of your car's look? Thank you.

If it is an E70 (which it is), then it will work. The reason the seller posts that is because the newer 2011+ BMW's are now F series cars (7 series, 5 series, 3 series, etc etc) and this cable will not work for those. The X5 is one of those exceptions.

Yes, 2012 X5 is E70. I'm going to read up more about coding first before I buy.

Hello Blue Dragon,

Just purchased a set of 2011 OEM Y spoke rims to put on my 2011 X5, it seems like they must not match up (My car manufactured prior to 10/10) and rims with TPMS after 10/10.

Do you know how to code to remove TPMS Malfunction?

^^ Do you want to disable the TPMS completely? Why not just buy the proper TPMS sensors?

I would prefer to disable than have to pay $150-200 plus a place to install them. I'd probably install when they need new tires though. What do you think?

It is possible, but you need to modify your vehicle order and code some modules

Remove 2VB from VO and remove TPMS fuse
- Code CAS with VO (FA_write)
- Recode DSC, CAPPL/CIC, and Kombi for the new VO

Would that be something I would understand when I get the cable and being to code the vehicle? Looks pretty tricky right now! Thanks

^^ Yes, once you get the cable and read the DIY guide, you will undestand what those mean.

Just noticed I can fold the mirrors by holding the CA touch pad on the exterior handle for a few seconds too.

Anyone increased the LED halo brightness to 13.7v? It is awesome. You can do by using nettodat file.
