Just finished coding my 2013 E70. It was an interesting journey assembling the appropriate versions of the software and data files, but it was worth the effort! I have owned several BMWs over the last 6 years and I wasn't even aware of the possibilities until reading the OP's first post on this. Not sure whether to curse or thank him. Now off to find more changes I can code.

^^ You can do VIM, and a bunch of others that I never bothered to do. I have the rear seat entertainment for the kids, so the vehicle in motion coding wasn't a priority for me.

I wasn't really interested in the video stuff, but I do want the tailgate close with keyfob. I tried using the V46 daten files for the 2013 E70, but got errors on the FRM and KOMBI modules where of course a lot of the desired features live. Based on some comments I read, I installed the V45 daten and was able to code the FRM, CAS, CIC and KOMBI modules without issue, but the HKL module, home of the tailgate functions, won't read. Do you have any ideas why this is happening. I looked at the error logs and it is obviously errors in the ECU files, but I am not yet experienced enough to undertake modifying them.
Thanks for all your info in this thread! |

If you are getting errors reading the HKL module, you maybe missing some of the ecu description files etc. You might want to check this thread out for the full daten files

Thanks for that link. I hate rapidshare, but I will download those and give it a try. There is an obvious problem with the V46 Lite version as I am not the only one that has experienced problems with them.
Really appreciate your help! |

No, this cable will not work. But...if you look around you will find one for earlier model vehicles or you will find the info on how to run a switch on that cable so you can use it for your M3.
Your cable does work, you verified that with the INPA connection. What is the error code # that came along with that message? |

Where can we find the codes used to do these MODs? I am ordering the cable from eBay.

The links in this post work.
http://www.bmwcoding.com/showthread....oding-your-car Spend some time reading the entire beginners thread and you should be all set. Rapidshare is very slow if you don't pay, but it does work. |

You need to add the retrofit code +AHMU to the vehicle order and then process the vehicle. That will code all the modules for you.

Here's the error. When I tried it today I got the first error posted, which is the first time I've had that error. It has always been the DATATRANMISSION error the other times, shown in image 2. Thanks |

These errors could be a faulty cable or daten files not updated correctly.

I used the bmw update tool to update the daten files and Ive tried v41 through v46. All give the same error msg.

Are you talking about laden.bat? It sounds like you haven't updated the EDIABAS ecu files.

@daveyfl - check the FIFO buffer settings for COM1. The FIFO must be enabled and the buffer size set to 8 as I recall. Otherwise its likely a bad cable.

Got my car flashed today to work with the OEM hitch I installed over the weekend but I have no zoom function. Asked the service manager and he has never heard of this zoom function.
Where can I find some documentation on it to show them?
